WHAT TO EXPECT AT

If you are a new patient, we will give you a tour of the office. We’ll introduce you to our team and assist you in the patient registration process. You will then be greeted by one of our highly competent dental hygienists, who will guide you through the appointment process.

Your visit will consist of the following;

• X-rays. We will take X-rays to assess your mouth, jaw, and the positioning of your teeth. These pictures will aid the dentist in diagnosing alignment issues, gum disease, and other conditions.
• Hygienist evaluation. Our dental hygienists are committed to improving the health of your teeth and gums. They focus on preventative dental care and patient education. The hygienist will discuss any concerns or questions you may have. They will take a “pocket reading” to determine where your teeth connect with the gums. A deep pocket allows more bacteria to invade the gums, which can increase the risk of gum disease.
• General teeth cleaning. A general cleaning involves a deep cleaning as the hygienist scrapes away the tartar off your teeth and cleans your gums thoroughly with floss. Your teeth will then be polished and you may even get a preventative treatment, especially if you are at high risk of tooth decay.
• Dentist exam. After the dental cleaning and hygiene evaluation, you will meet with the dentist, where you will both discuss any concerns with your oral health. The dentist will then perform a comprehensive exam and evaluation. They will then inform you of any recommendations for treatment.
